Obituary of Beverly B. Vassallo
Beverly B. Vassallo, age 68, beloved wife of Charles Vassallo, Jr. of Oxford, CT died peacefully on February 1, 2019 at the St. Raphael Campus of Yale New Haven Health. Born in Stamford on May 13, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Mary Piro Boasso. Beverly was raised in Stamford and has since resided in Oxford for 40 years, where she was a Communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Stamford Hospital prior to starting her family. Beverly then became the Office Manager for her husband’s engineering consulting business for many years, until her retirement 3 years ago. Most importantly, she was a full time mother to her four children and provided them with an over abundance of love, strength and silliness. Her guidance, protection and strong influence, no doubt, were her most valued characteristics. A tomboy at heart, Beverly was an avid fan of both the UCONN Women’s Basketball and New York Yankee teams. She enjoyed music, dancing and playing her guitar - so much she wrote songs for each of her children when they were born. She loved having all her kids, their spouses and grandkids over on any given day and in particular, enjoyed hosting the holidays for her family. She will be most remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother and Baba to 5 grandchildren. In addition to her husband Charlie of 43 years, she is survived by her children, Merrianne (Robert) Cipolla of Trumbull, Leslie (Jason) Alldredge of Oxford, Kyle (Danielle) Vassallo of Cheshire and Lauren Vassallo of Southington; and her cherished grandchildren, Lilianna and Louis Cipolla, Olivia and Bryce Alldredge, and Blake Vassallo. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Oxford, and interment followed in St. John Cemetery, Darien. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 733 Oxford Road, Oxford, CT 06478. The Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia was in care of arrangements.
