Obituary of Carmen Montalvan
Carmen Segura Montalvan, age 79 of Ansonia, beloved wife of Humberto Montalvan, died peacefully on March 29, 2019 at Griffin Hospital with her family by her side. Born in Vinces, Ecuador, she was the daughter of the late Jose and Ursula Arriga Segura. Mrs. Montalvan immigrated to the U.S. in 1973 settling in Port Chester, NY, then residing in Greenwich for 30 years, prior to moving to Ansonia 13 years ago. She worked as a printing press operator for the former Quadrigas Arts Printing Co. of Portchester, NY for 40 years, until the time of her retirement in 1979. Mrs. Montalvan loved to cook for her friends and family- popular favorites being her soups and empanadas. She enjoyed gardening and music- loud music, the louder the better! But her passion was her family- spending time with her children and grandchildren, always putting the needs of others before her own. She had the innate ability to see the good in people and express her love to all who came into her life. She is survived by her devoted children, Carlos Montalvan of FL, Danny Montalvan of Stamford, Leo Montalvan of Norwalk, Jose Montalvan of Danbury and Carmen Montalvan of Ansonia; a daughter-in-law, Maria Garcia Montalvan of Stamford; cherished grandchildren, Santy, Kenny, Charlene, Leo, Timothy, Shaina, Elysia, Vanessa, Jolene, Ashley, Matthew, Alexa, Jaylin, Coco, Bigi, Adriana and Nubia; precious great-grandchildren, Kailey, Yvonne, T.J., Josiah, London, Jordan, Nana, Liam, Kreem, Neno, Anthony and Nina; as well as many nieces and nephews in the U.S. and Ecuador. Mrs. Montalvan was predeceased by a son, Fernando Montalvan and a daughter-in-law, Sherry Salvatore. At her request, all funeral services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. The Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia is in care of arrangements.
